Coach K: happy at Duke: seems to have no serious NBA aspirations. If I were Mark Few I'd stay put. I find the idea that he "should" go to "a better job" or "go up to the next level" absurd. Often going up the ladder is a major step down -- Raymond Pert/Kellogg Bloggin.

DFO: Raymond Pert nailed it. In my small way, I made this decisions years ago when the opinion editor of the Tacoma News-Tribune called in search of a conservative bloviator. I asked him three questions: Did I have to wear a tie to work? Could I live within 5 minutes of the office? Is Tacoma as beautiful as Coeur d'Alene? Then, I made an observation: I have the best newspapering job in the state of Idaho. Can you beat that? I've never regretted remaining here.

Question: Are you happy where you're at? Or are you looking for greener fields elsewhere?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Joel Ortiz Off Aftermath? Is Bow Wow Crazy? Amy ...

Wow Bow doesn't have to do this. He doesn't. He can still make his name Bow Wow again. The rumor is that he got pissed off at Chris Brown and spit on his R&B counterpart. That's word to Omarion! Anyway apparently at a show in Dallas, Wow Bow ended his set off and accused Brown of messing up his set. How? I'm not sure how. Chris Brown is the headliner of the show, but I don't know what he did. Anyway, Wow Bow had to be restrained and out came the spit. I know this is only a rumor, but I have to ask: IS WOW BOW CRAZY?

Now that I got a good laugh out of that, you should know that Wow Bow has stated on the record that this never happened. Chris Brown hasn't issued any denial.

OBAMA HAS A SHOT!

OK, I know one doesn't have anything to do with the other, but I thought I would say this anyway.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing

You may find quinoa (KEEN-wah), millet and buckwheat groats (kasha) in the ethnic or baking aisles or near the pasta and rice.

Here are answers to commonly asked questions about whole grains, from Posner and the Free Press Test Kitchen.

Q: What is a whole grain?

A: A whole grain contains all the parts of the kernel. It has the bran (the outer shell) the endosperm (the middle layer that provides energy) and the germ (where the nutrients come from).

Q: What is the recommended number of whole grain servings to eat daily?

A: The goal is three full servings of whole grains, totaling 48 grams.

Q: What should I look for in the ingredient list to tell if a product is made with whole grains?

A: The first ingredient listed is the one the product contains the most of.

Britain ‘seen as a soft touch’

Abandon the “human rights" merry-go-round.

Tell the EU we won't take anyone from Bulgaria or Romania or any other country which wants to “join Europe". And get rid of the 11,000 foreigners in our jails.

Alas, the Government hasn't got a clue how many people it has let in already.

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, the MP for Redditch, humiliatingly apologised this week after claiming 800,000 migrant workers had come to Britain since 1997. Turns out the real figure is 1.1 million.

First we're told immigrants took 30 per cent of the 2.7 million jobs created in the past decade. Then the official figure was increased to 40 per cent. Now it's 52 per cent – making Gordon Brown's promise of “British jobs for British workers" look pretty silly.

It's all guesswork, and the Government has even less of a clue how many illegal immigrants there are.

Villa-O: From conception to opening night

The polished and repolished honey-brown mahogany glows. Waiters obsessively straighten sky-blue napkins and fluff throw pillows with nautical flags. From the white-tiled kitchen comes the thud-thud-thud of cooks pounding veal chops.

Nearby, two bartenders quietly cut limes into quarter-inch slices and remove caps from liquor bottles, preparing to fill orders.

And then, the customer orders a limontini.

A server, in a solemn and solicitous voice, explains the problem: The orange and lemon slices have only been soaking in the vodka a few days. It will take a week for the spirits to be fully infused. Until then, the cocktail will fall flat.

But the customer isn't buying the explanation. You're either ready to open or you're not ready to open, he snarls.

Britney Spears' release: Why, God? WHY?!

Britney Spears' release from UCLA Medical Center has many people scratching their heads. It turns out that a court-appointed lawyer stepped in and decided that Britney was no longer a danger to herself and others. People reports:

The procedure calls for a hearing at the hospital to find out whether the hold is justified. The rep for the court, called a "hearing referee" – who is usually a lawyer – interviews the patient and doctor to determine if there's "just cause" for detainment.
"This is when law and medicine collide," says attorney Terry K. Wasserman, who's not involved in the Spears matter, "when a lawyer can override a doctor's opinion."

Britney Spears' parents are obviously none-too-thrilled and issued the following statement last night to the media:

"As parents of an adult child in the throes of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe.
